[Workshop] Community Planning in China Workshop at Yale-NUS

On June 23rd and 24th 2017, 20 international planning scholars gathered at Yale-NUS College for a workshop entitled “Community Planning in China.” Featuring nine original papers, the workshop explored emergent practices of planning and development in China’s urban and rural communities. Workshop participants discussed the constitution of community in contemporary China and the role of humanism and site specificity in Chinese planning practice. The workshop was organized by Prof. Nick Smith, with support from Gertie Ma, Angela Ferguson, Clarissa Leong, and Timothy Chua, as well as a Yale-NUS College Workshop Grant.
